Polyurethane is applied as a liquid which expands into a semi-rigid mass; it automatically "SEALS" off those drafty areas like baseboards headers, sill plates, windows, doors, etc. It also minimizes uncontrolled air leakage throughout the building envelope thereby reducing energy losses.

 

Spray foam insualtion is usually defined by its density. There are basically three main types of spray foam that are installed in homes. Three pound foam is installed on roof exteriors. Two pound (closed cell foam) is used as a vapor barrier and may be sprayed on the exterior or interior of a building. One half pound (open cell ) foam is the insulation you will typically find installed on the interior of a building.
